Vrijdagavond, een ontmoeting in de frituur met mijn voormalige docent schilderkunst. ‘Schilder je nog?’ vroeg hij. Wat volgt is het begin van een reeks schilderijen. Een friet op canvas, als een herinnering aan dit vluchtig gesprek, een aanleiding om terug te gaan schilderen.

Friday night, an encounter in the Friterie (local snack bar) with my former painting teacher. ‘Do you still paint?’ he asked. What followed was the beginning of a series of paintings. Fries on canvas, as a reminder of this fleeting conversation, an occasion to start painting again.
